People with mobility issues sometimes need help from others, including 911

“In that last experience I was just crouching down to put a collar back on my small dog. I was on a sidewalk, along a busy avenue. My legs gave away while crouched and I went down to the pavement. Once down, I could not find anything that I could use to boost myself up by using my arms and what leg muscle I have left.”

Several people tried to help me up, and I still couldn’t get vertical. Finally, I told them to call 911 and two strong EMS guys got me up. From then on I never walked outside, by myself, unless I was sure that type of incident would not happen to me again.”
